The bucket-shaped Makasi earring is usually worn by women from the Jyapu caste, a Newar farming community settled in the Kathmandu Valley. Typically made of gold alloy, they are worn every day. Our version of the Makasi has been modified, accentuating its unique shape, and giving it a more formal look.
