Red Handwoven Place Mats

The state of Chiapas is famous for creating back-strap loom textiles with traditional Mayan designs, in which women make blouses, shirts, tableclothes, pillows, napkins and placemats for their own use or for sale. The Textile municipalities of Tenejapa Pantelhí_, Larríçinzar and Chenalho are well recognized. Women make dresses, wool ponchos and more beautifully crafted pieces like these unique placemats.
